I did make efforts to put my desires to death. There was a part of me that wanted to be better than what I was.

For example, I learned that sex, for a woman, was not just a physical exchange between a man and a woman. I learned that sex, for a woman, starts way before a husband and wife take off their clothes. It starts with a man being sensitive to a women’s needs in the beginning of the day. Checking to see how she is. Checking to see how he can help with the kids or help around the house. I learned that calling your wife in the middle of the day just to see how she was doing could help to set the mood for a fruitful evening. Checking to see if there is anything that she needs on your way home OR offering to relieve her from the kids when you walk in the door could be seeds that blossom into something very fruitful. It was learning her love language and looking for ways to speak her love language regularly. Mind you, this was not always a guarantee, but it usually didn’t hurt.
